CAMBIO UNIVERSIDAD PRIVADA A PUBLICA

Hi. I'm in the same situation as you, except that Spanish isn't my native language, since I'm a foreigner. I've enrolled in a private medical school and I want to try to take the PCE exams next year to see if I can get into a public university. Since I'm not Spanish, I'm a bit nervous about whether I'll be able to study medicine and prepare for the PCE exams at the same time. I don't know if it will work out.
The PCE exams are written and answered in Spanish (Castilian), except for foreign language tests like English, French, or German.
Here are the key details you need to know about the language rules:

1. English Translation Support
  • Bilingual Exam Papers: The official UNEDasiss exam sheets include a courtesy translation in English right below the Spanish text. This helps you understand technical words or tricky questions.
  • Must Answer in Spanish: Even though you can read the questions in English, you must write all your answers strictly in Spanish. If you answer in English (except for the English language test itself), your exam will not be graded.

2. Recommended Spanish Level
  • For the Exams: UNEDasiss does not strictly require an official Spanish certificate just to take the PCE exams. However, a B1 or B2 level is highly recommended to understand the syllabus and write your answers correctly.
  • For University Admission: Be careful! While UNED might let you take the test, many Spanish universities will officially demand a B2 Spanish certificate (such as DELE or SIELE) to accept you into their degree programs.
